Road traffic offences and your licence:
How important is your licence? Penalty points or a disqualification can be catastrophic. We understand this and are of the view that good preparation and a thorough knowledge of the law can often get results as these offences are often the ones that are given the least resources by prosecuting agencies.

Funding of cases
This is obviously an area which concerns most people.
We have a separate pricing structure for this area as you cannot normally obtain public funding. We offer a 30 minute interview with David Smith, Anthony Egan or Nick Brown ” who are all qualified Solicitors”. This is charged at £50 plus VAT.
We can either see you at our office or advise you via fax, e-mail or have a telephone appointment, whichever is more convenient to you.
We will then be happy to be as involved or not in the case. For example you may want us to attend a local court and put forward mitigation as to why you were speeding or caught drink driving and try and reduce the amount of points or disqualification you receive.
Individually written plea in mitigation – £100 + VAT
You could simply ask us to draft a plea which you could read out to the court yourself. This may give you the reassurance of having the relevant points put across without forgetting what to say if you appear in court by yourself.
This will be done by David Smith, Anthony Egan or Nick Brown, who are all qualified Solicitors. We also sometimes use hand picked Barristers who specialise in Criminal Law.
Representation at a local court for a guilty plea – £300 + VAT
This will be done by David Smith, Anthony Egan or Nick Brown who are all qualified Solicitors. We also sometimes use hand picked Barrister who specialise in criminal law.
There may be technical defences or legal arguments to put forward which we will be able to assist you with once you have come and spoken to us. It is sometimes important to consider things like what effect a ban would have on you or your job, how far you drove if over the limit, were you planning to drive the car or just sit in it if over the limit. Various arguments called “special reasons” or “exceptional hardship” may be possible to argue and avoid a ban.
The price is per attendance at Court and includes our attendance all day if necessary and our time in preparing and travelling to and from for the hearing. It is calculated according to our estimate of the complexity and time this type of hearing usually requires.

Sometimes you are simply not guilty. You may not have been the driver of the car at the time, the light may have been green or amber not red or the speed camera may have been operating incorrectly. We can help you prove your innocence.
